Abu Dhabi 2021: vice world champion!

Yesterday ended the world swimming championships (25m) in Abu Dhabi. I can be definitely satisfied with the results obtained, which are even above the initial expectations. The goal was to reach at least one final and, in the three individual races, I reached two finals, but especially the second place in the 200 butterfly. We knew that my preparation for this world championship was quite good, but not 100%, yet satisfying performances came: besides the title of vice-world champion, I was able to improve the Swiss records in all three butterfly distances, entering the Top 10 of the all-time world ranking in the 200 butterfly (#9). In addition to my personal achievements, I reached the final with my national teammates in the 4x50 freestyle. All in all, a wonderful experience that will serve me well for future international commitments and, above all, to start again with conviction towards the most important goals of this season which, as I have said many times, are the World and European Championships in long course.
