PHOTO OF THE MONTH
Bellinzona, Reception with the State Council of the Canton of Ticino, for the Bucharest medals, 10 January 2023.
Here I am back from Budapest with good feelings and an extra boost for the upcoming season. The three days of the last stage of World Aquatics World Cup gave me some nice feedbacks on my form, despite the fact that I only started training again at the beginning of September after a month's break. Without any specific preparation or training, I tackled the 100 butterfly and two races that I had not competed in for a long time, particularly in the long pool: the 200 freestyle and, above all, the 200 IM. I achieved a victory in the 100 butterfly with a good 51.38, an unexpected fourth place in the 200 IM (in 1.59.70, my new personal best) and a more than decent 200 freestyle (5th place). In about ten days' time, in Bolzano, my short pool season will begin, which will take me to the European Championships in Bucharest at the beginning of December, passing first through the Swiss Championships in Uster, scheduled for mid-November.
